Fashola Counsels girl pupils on decency

Mrs. Abimbola Fashola wife of immediate past governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola (SAN) recently advised female pupils to imbibe good virtues as they transit from adolescent to adulthood.
In our world today where good morals have taken flight, Mrs. Fashola’s counsel was timely. She impressed upon them the need to be good citizens by placing high values on morals.

She gave the advice at the Guidance and Counselling Day organised by the Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls in Lagos. She was the guest speaker at the event.

We gathered that Mrs. Fashola was chosen for her exemplary comportment and achievements as first lady. She however counselled the pupils to focus on their academics and shun distractions.

According to her, “There is need to nurture girls to grow, live and function as unique and respectable wives, mothers and professionals of tomorrow. The school has not only been focusing on academics alone but also on moral, leadership and home management training”.

The founder of the school, Mrs. Leila Fowler in her address disclosed the annual career and counselling fair was more than a platform to guide the pupils on career path.

“The school places high premium on guidance and counselling in view of the sensitive nature of girls as they plough through the adventurous world of adolescence into adulthood. The school engages professional counsellors to speak to the pupils in order to achieve a balanced moral and academic growth.”
