A 21 year old youth corps
member identified as David Onyeasina was killed in Benin, Edo State Capital by
armed robbers.
Onyeasina, a graduate of
Fine and Applied Arts from Ladoke Akintola University Ogbomosho, Osun State had
his primary assignment at Edo College, along Murtala Muhammed Way, Benin.
He met his untimely death
on Saturday when he went to a shop to buy a recharge card. He was hit by stray
bullets as the robbers attempted to escape. Meanwhile, two of the bandits have
been arrested by the Police.
According to DSP Stephen
Onwochei, Edo State Police Command spokesperson who confirmed the arrest,
several items such as two cut-to-size guns, nine live cartridges, 10 mobile
phones and jewellery were recovered from the robbers.
